Oh alright thank you
All of these schools are probably reaches based on your SAT score. You may want to check out some schools with a lower range of SAT scores. There are many schools still accepting applications, but you will have to do some research as to which ones are appropriate and affordable.
No problem. If money really isn’t a problem I would suggest finding some schools with high admit rates like 80%-ish.
For example, Suffolk has a Biochemistry major and an admittance rate of 82.4%. If you want help with something specific like that then we on this forum can help you pick. Just come back with a list of safety schools and we can help you eliminate some. It’s also in Boston so it’s in a big city that will have job opportunities, nightlife, stuff to do, etc.
Or Seattle University has a 73% admit rate and a BS in biochem
There’s nothing special about the 2 universities I picked above, they were schools I considered at some point.
What @philbegas said. The way to get over this worry is not to beg on CC for reassurance. It’s to apply to some sure bets.
I like Michelle Kretzschmar’s 50/50 list of colleges that accept more than 50 percent of their applicants and graduate more than 50 percent of their students. You can download it at diycollegerankings dot com.
Oh man @AroundHere I wish I knew about that when I was in high school. Solid suggestion!
Could I just do SAT subject tests in order to boost my applications
I would look at test-optional schools, especially if there are no financial constraints.
Furman in Greenville SC would be one good example in a lovely climate.
Good luck!
Ok so I’ve done a little research and came up with these universities:
Seton Hall University
Hofstra University
Seattle University
Suffolk University
University of Maryland Baltimore County
Indiana University Bloomington
Penn State
California State University
Please help me eliminate or suggest better options
Penn State is a pretty competitive university if you’re applying to the main campus
Which California State University are you looking at? There is a lot of them with different levels of difficulty
Off of @ColdinMinny 's suggestion I believe university of puget sound and temple university would be decent back-up suggestions.
Where do you live? Have you been in contact with closest Advising Center of EducationUSA or AMIDEAST? Usually the staff there have a good sense of where US citizens educated in that country’s secondary schools are likely to be admitted.

i don’t live in the US, but I have citizenship (maryland)
Will you get in-state tuition in MD?
From the description, probably not (unless the OPs family have been paying state taxes in Maryland).
Well they said finances weren’t an issue anyways so maybe it doesn’t matter
There is a college out there for everyone. Since finances are not an issue, it will be much easier for your to find your “fit.” Just find a nice private school with a high acceptance rate and a biochemistry program. Not that hard, so no need to worry.
Yes my parents have been paying taxes in Maryland, so I do qualify for in-state tuition. My main problem now is do you know of any unis that accept January SAT scores?
