I took diagnostic tests of the SAT and my results were sort of the same. My writing is pretty good, considering I am non-American, but my math and English scores are really lame. I am planning to graduate and go to UCSB/UC Santa Barbara.

My scores averaged from lowest to highestare:

Math ---> 490 to 610
English ---> 310 to 470
Writing ---> 610 to 690

I am very concerned, worried, anxious, and depressed because I just can't do any better. I wish I can, but I do not know any other way. I am practicing math the most because I believe it is easier to learn math than English.

If I had the scores like the diagnostic results, would it be possible to get in UCSB?

If you're a not a CA resident, it's REALLY tough to get into many UC schools. Some folks have more success starting at a community college or Cal State School & transferring if they do well.

The scores you posted would be difficult for admission to a UC school, especially if you're not a CA resident.

Unless you are a minority or have some other sob story, your chances at UCSB are slim.
Your best bet would be to go to a community college like Santa Barbara city college, and then transfer to UCSB after 2 years.

Assuming you live in California, you could go to possibly UC Merced or UC Irvine. The rest would be very hard. What's your gpa? To get into UCSB safely, I would guess you need at least 2000+

the clubs will not negate the low SAT scores. I highly recommend you retake the SATs and maintain a decent GPA, since scores are what UCs care about the most.

Well... UCSB is mostly a party school so I believe it's alittle bit easier to get in =)..
I am really uncertain with UC applications =(!

The thing is, UCSB continues to get very strong applicant pools and tough admissions. Since you said you took diagnostic SAT tests, I assume you're still a few years away from college, and you can expect UCSB (as well as the others) to be more competitive.

I think you should aim for an 1800+ on the SATs to have a good shot at UCSB. When you fall below that, you'll need a strong GPA or good ECs to get admitted.

ACTS are generally easier in the writing, reading, and math section...but ACTs have a science section...which i found extremely confusing. I say opt for Riverside, Santa Cruz, or Merced...or transfer in. By the way, how do i post new messages?
