I am the stupidest applicant this year

Through some sort of bamboozlement/stupidity/absentmindedness/alloftheaboveIM AN IDIOT AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, I managed to somehow submit my common app essay...for the Harvard supplemental. So basically, I sent the same essay twice. I submitted the supplemental on the 3rd, and only just now noticed it (I totally thought that I'd sent a different essay). Am I completely screwed? I have the essays right here. Harvard is my dream school and I'm really afraid that I've completely dashed my already small chances at admission...Will they accept my actual supplemental essay?

Call the admissions office and tell them that you experienced a technical error and inadvertently sent the same essay twice. Do not ask if you "can" send the other one. Rather, ask what the best possible way to send it at this point is - email, snailmail, Fedex, etc.

I'm fairly sure they will accept your essay. Don't sweat it.

Send the second essay now with a request to substitute it for the extra copy of the same essay. The deadline has not arrived yet, there is time. Make sure to put your name and date of birth on the essay (both pages if relevant) so that they can put it in your file easily.

yeah, don't ask whether they'll accept it, just ask how.

Call them and tell them what happened.
