I am trying to transfer to michigan, should i retake? help please!

right now I am at the university of michigan-dearborn. I am trying to transfer to the university of michigan-ann arbor. I messed up 2 of my classes this semester, political science 101 and calculus 2 and I recieved credit but ended with C+ in both classes. I am sure that if I retake both classes over summer I can get solid As. My question is, will retaking the classes look bad? The policy here is that if you retake your new grade factors into your gpa and the old grade shows up but does not have any effect. If I get the As I can come up to a 3.59 with 27 credits and try to transfer. Should i retake both classes? only one of them? retake neither?

I called UofM twice and they gave me 2 completely different answers. which is why i came here. My grade and credits transfer over because we are sister campuses. Will U of M not like that i retook two classes? I was thinking about just taking new classes over the summer, but even if i get 4 As over the summer my gpa does not come up as much as it would if i retook 2 classes. Any advice on what to do?I really want to transfer and would appreciate any input.

sorry for the long post, i just wanted to be clear with my question.

I would retake calc 2, at least.

If i retake both classes and get As would that look bad? one person on the phone at ann arbor said that they viewed retakes negatively and rather we improve grades with new classes. But then another person on the phone said that retaking would show determination to get a better grade and work hard. Which one of these is true?
