I'm currently at Eastern Michigan. My first semester I did bad, really bad. I took 12 credits consisting of Calc I, Chem, and Bio. I got a D- in calc and failed the other two classes. Now I'm in Calc II, physics, java programming, and geography.

I struggle with ADHD and I just started to get treated for it a couple weeks ago. I'm doing a little better, but it will take some time for my doctors to help me get to where I want to be. This semester won't be nearly as bad as the prior semester, but it won't be as good as it should be. All these classes transfer, so I'm hoping to get at least a C in calc and nothing lower than Bs in the other classes.

My question is, should I basically retake my first semester over the summer? Say I did and got As, and then got all As during Fall 2013 and Winter 2014, what would be chances be? Also, how do universities usually handle retaken classes? Are "W" grades bad if the course is retaken? I don't NEED to transfer for my junior year, if I could transfer the second semester of my junior year or even my senior year I wouldn't care. I just want to get there eventually.
