I am under pressure from my parents to excel. Chances for korean boy please??????

Here is my tentative list of colleges that I plan to apply to. I know some of them seem WAY out of my league, and I plan to remove 1-2 ivies from the list below (only put it on my list to please parents - dont really want to apply there)

Cornell
Brown
Yale (only put this here cus parents want me to apply - I don't)
Williams
RISD
Carnegie Mellon
Wesleyan
Boston College

Grades:

SAT: 2000 (670M, 670W, 660CR) - I'm retaking it, projected to get 2150+
SAT II: Chemistry (700), Biology (700), Math IIC (taking)
APS: Studio Art-Drawing (5), US History (5), Chemistry (3 - witholding)

Here is the BIG problem: As a freshman, I slacked off.. SO much. and my grade has suffered TERRIBLY for it. but i straightened my head and worked hard in 10th and 11th grade. Hopefully, colleges will notice the upward trend?

11th grade average: A
11th grade clases:

Reccomendations: excellent recs from my USH teacher and my Chem teacher (who taught me regular AND AP chem), supplementary rec from David Kapp (reknown artist in NY)

Supplements:

Chances please? and please be honest but not mean. Yes, there is a BIG difference. Also, I'd appreciate it if u could give me constructive advice on how to maximize my chances. I know my grades arent that amazing, but I'm definitely gonna raise mY SAT I score and do well on MATH IIC.

sorry for the LONG post

***i forgot

under extracurriculars, i forgot to include:

Publicity Secretary of our school's student government for 2 years (member for 4 years)

Most colleges tend not to emphasize freshman year grades that much (although it obviously affects rank). However, I would be worried that you don't have that many safeties.
Cornell-Reach
Brown-Reach
Yale (only put this here cus parents want me to apply - I don't)-Reach
Williams-Reach
RISD-???
Carnegie Mellon-Slight Reach/Reach
Wesleyan-???
Boston College-Match

What is going to hurt you a lot is that you have no spectacular scores, and your GPA and consequentially class rank, are hardly at, if not below, the average of those applying to many of your colleges. I really like your EC's since they're diverse, and that's a plus, but the two things aforementioned are really going to hurt. I would suggest trying to bring up your SATs not to 2150+, but 2200+, in order to be competitive with a lot of the schools you listed (Brown, Cornell, Williams, etc.) and, time permitting, retake SAT IIs. If you think its worth a shot, Cornell ED might boost your chances as well.

low scores and GPA + korean so...
Cornell: high reach
Brown: high reach
Yale (only put this here cus parents want me to apply - I don't): high reach
Williams: high reach
RISD: match/reach
Carnegie Mellon: reach
Wesleyan: match
Boston College: match

Make sure you're not applying just because of your parents. You're the one going to college. Most of the colleges you have listed are longshots for you with your current scores and grades. You seem interested in art, which to me, is more unique than sciences. Make sure you get your SAT over 2100 and get good grades the first semester of Senior year. I disagree about your essay choice. Colleges what to see what you're passionate about. If you've spent so much time focusing on artwork, write an expressive essay regarding art and connect it to yourself or to a broader, global perspective. Hopefully I've made some sense, good luck with applications.

how rainmaker. that helped a lot. thanks :)

and my practice SAT scores are projected 2150.

i stillhave a month to study for the SAT I. hopefully i can get at least 2200 by then

and our school does not do GPAS/ranks

What schools you do u guys reccomend that i look into as other reaches/matches/especially safeties?

i prefer a school like brown, where freedom to challenge oneself in a variety of classes is widespread. I want a beautiful campus, great community and nice weather.

they are all reaches

can anyone reply to my question above?
