I am VERY tempted to make a Handball Team next year!

I will be a Freshman, so that is why I am so skeptical
For one, a freshman leading the team? I doubt any upperclassman would join

But I do not want to make it too late in HS, where universities think I am just making it for them

So do I wait a year so in Sophomore to make it?
I mean it would:
1) Be a neat experience CREATING A SPORTS TEAM (it would be student-run)
2) Be hard getting money from the budget
3) Maybe be hard recruiting people?
4) Would look EXTRAORDINARY to Universities if I founded a sports team, and made it bigger (I could be recruited to lead a Handball team at University)

So what should I do?

First, talk to your school administrators or coaches or whoever is in charge of clubs and ask them about making one. Then ask your friends to join, out up posters (if your school permits) to get people to join (don’t worry about the upperclassmen). I think making a club is a really good idea.

Oh, and for money you could do fundraisers (car washes, bake sales, etc) in order to raise money. Good luck!

I am also the main contender for Class President, so maybe I could pull a few strings to get a budget!

It would be a spring team, so would that mean I would approach them in the winter?
