I sent the appeal in on time but my problem is I put the wrong student ID number. My app number and name are correct, but is the student number mishap going to effect my appeal? What should I do!!

Send another letter explaining what took place, and enclose a copy of the first letter that you sent. Mistakes are made every day, and yours is minor. Don't worry about it. :)

i would worry...it's already hard enough to an appeal reversed. good luck anyway.

Try calling them...these things happen all the time.

FaustianPact, dont be so rude! Dont forget the wonderful cuisine that is Wendy's! No seriously! I love Wendy's! And In-n-Out! What more could you want.

I <3 you and hope Cal made a mistake and takes your admisison away. Then you will have to go to GASP! UCLA with me :P

ya acidpoptart i agree. irvine is quite cool compared to schools like Cal and UCLA where everyone sucks. I have this friend actually who also got into UCLA...it kinda sucks cuz hes this big jerk and like only thing thats good about him are his sexy hairy legs and his big kabob. Other than that he's like the biggest loser. he like hits on younger asian chicks too....but ya Im sure not all people going to ucla are jerks...u seem cool and ur going there so ya.

Richie, don't listen to any of the people above who are flaunting their acceptances at other schools. Simply call, or even better, do what FifiDog suggested and sent a letter of correction (the UCs love it in writing). If it doesn't work out, then oh well. A community college is a GREAT route to the UCs. As a back up plan, enroll at a CC near the UC you would want to transfer to most. Most have guarenteed transfer plans. So you can do your general ed. at a CC, get it done in as little as a year, or year and a half, then end up graduating in four years with a UC diploma.

And if your appeal does get granted, congrats. UCI may not be Cal or UCLA, but it is still a good school, which many people got rejected from. Just because people think they are better than you because their school has the name, it doesn't mean they are.

PS: ESPECIALLY don't listen to FaustianPact...

From the "Best Buy Scholarship reply" thread...

An junior who got into Cal and Irvine Honors? That's amazing!! I guess no one could live up to those standards.

Either he is lying then, or lying now. Either way, don't listen to him (or her, who knows).

Haha, while I agree that FaustianPact was being pretty immature in his/her response, it's not that odd for someone who's not a senior to get admitted to college. I got into Irvine honors without fantabulous stats (I'm not a senior).

Thanks for all the replies everyone, but I think everything is ok. I called them and they posted my appeal as recieved on their site. They said student ID doesn't really matter, as long as my name and UC ID is correct. Once again, thanks for all the support everyone (^_^)

la_scorcha: are you choosing to skip senior year and go into UCI directly?

Or are you an athlete being recruited?

I'm not an athlete; my case is just a little different. Basically I took a lot (and I do mean a lot) of community college classes out of curiosity, and it ended up being that if I went to high school next year I'd just being repeating myself in pretty much everything (history, english, math...). My CC credits satisfied all the UC A-G requirements. So I took my SAT's, the equivalent of the GED for kids under 18 (CHSPE), applied, and got accepted + invited to the honors program (which sold me on UCI; I wasn't really sure about it before that). I'm not really 'skipping' anything, since I already took all the history, english, and math that would have been required anyway.

Mo, you sound like a beautiful man. Lets meet up and make love.
