I applied Princeton ED- will I get in??

you people crack me up.. i hope we all get in, that way we can have a party! lol

I think you'll find out in 15 days, so stop worrying. Good luck.

RSI is a summer research program held at MIT and caltech, usually for juniors. It is the most selective program in the country, and iirc only one person who ever got accepted into rsi was rejected from mit. My friend did it last summer, and is at Penn this year (he graduated a year early).

Wow! If you don't get in, there isn't much hope for me. That is amazing! I deffinitly think you've got a GREAT shot at it! Good Luck! I hope you get in!

this person is looking pretty good. but i've known 1550's who get rejected, and they had better EC's and simlar II's. Big Three admissions is truly random. This person could probably go like 7/8 RD on the Ivies though.

your 4 on ur physics c is gonna keep u out, sorry :(

Of course you're not going to get in. You don't exist.

seconds Marissa

You know... I think you will make it in! The above people who said otherwise are either jealous or think extreme uniqueness is the accepted norm for all the school.

Either that or you aren't real.

what does RSI stand for?

Research Science Institute I believe

i think you have a very good shot. my boyfriend got into princeton ED two years ago with 1530 SAT, all 800s on SAT IIs, and ECs that very time-expending, but not all that "amazing." he just happened to be president of every one of them...

eh, anywho, i think you're looking good. but that's just my opinion

Princeton would be a good reach for you, but I think you'd be better suited for College of the Ozarks

Hoo_29, for someone who gives "harsh criticisms," you seem to know little about the magnitude of his ECs. Westinghouse finalist is by far NOT average.

OK. He might get in. What do I know? "PU" is really random. I just don't see a strong enough applicant for PU in this post, so that's my guess. He does still need safety schools, though, and his EC's were still pretty weak, with or without the Westinghouse finalist thing.

Hoo29, you are a fool. His ECs and stats are excellant. Oh wait, i almost forget, he was in RSI (only 1 person who has attended this has ever been rejected from MIT), AND was a westinghouse finalist! It honestly does not get much better. Tell me, Hoo29, what are "great" ECs in your opinion?
Don't listen to Hoo_29, you stand a great chance at getting in, I would be personally suprised if you were rejected.

Agreed. Perhaps you should top judging others when you have such a little base for comparison yourself. Suggesting ill-thought out criticism is more dangerous than blinding people with false hopes.

Justperfect, what the hell are you talking about!

"all the people applying to ivies have 4.0 1550"
That's news to me. Last time I check Princeton's average SAT score and GPA were well below 1550 and 4.0. Notice that's for ADMITTED students, not applicants!! I'm willing to bet that the average SAT score for applicants is below 1450.

This person went to RSI, the most selective research program in the country. This should set him apart, as most RSI's apply to MIT.

He (she) is by no means an average applicant.

Its amazing what a couple of recruits and rich parents/legacies can do to the average...

It's true, whether you want to admit it or not. I agree though, most of us "regular" people who apply need a DECENT1490+ (I include 1490 because it might as well damn be a 1500... and that's my score... har har har) to be considered competitive applicants. And shame on you who said he/she was an autoadmit. There aer no such things as autoadmits> i admit his crdentials are great, no they're ruperior, but then again, think of what everyone else who is applying has accomplished as well...

Thanks Hobbes. He has awesome credentials, very very strong in fact. Unfortunately, though, I just don't see enough in them to get him admitted to Princeton. I am entitled to my opinion, and I don't want to be ill-thought out, but he doesn't have strong enough EC's. Yes, Westinghouse Scholar is great, but HYP has rejected numerous Presidential scholars, NMS, and many other award winning people! I want to keep an eye out for his decision next week, so I can see if my predictions are right or not. Of course, I might be wrong, but that's just my opinion. It's not like I have any control over what PU's decisions, I just decided to place my vote on Friday's D-Day.

My predictions should only lower your expectations and make you feel better when you get accepted, or make you less suprised when you read "We are sorry to inform you..."

Don't take stuff so seriously. It's not like it is going to change ANYTHING if some random people on CC decide someone deserves an acceptance or not.

Don't get your panties in a wad. Geez.

You have been in at least a couple threads giving unfounded predicitions, usually in the negative position. You said his/her extra curriculars were lacking, this couldn't be further from the truth by anyone's standpoint. You did not know what a westinghouse finalist was, but preceded with your post anyway.
He/she posted because he wants truthful advice, no matter the tone. Negative posts are fine, as long as they're not completely off-base.
