I Cannot Comprehend the June International SAT Curve

Hey everyone,

I've taken the SAT twice now (Jan and June) and got 1810 (M540/CR610/W660/Essay 10) for the January test. I went through about 3 papers between the January and June test dates which fell quite short of the 10 papers that I hoped to get through in that time.

Writing has always been my better section. In the past tests I had been cruising in the 700s. I kept working at it in the hopes of it pulling me through--the other two sections were a bit more laborious to prepare for as they are not specific priorities in my international curriculum.

For the June SAT [1920 (M630/CR620/W670/Essay 8)] , I didn't achieve my dream score of 2200+, although I improved in all three sections, especially Math, which was elating. I came to terms with my writing score and thought, "An improvement is an improvement--be proud." I was proud... up until today when the detailed score report was released.

In the January score report, I had had 8 incorrect answers for my Writing; in June, I had 3. How can such a huge difference of 5 points leave me in the exact same score range? Could it be incorrect marking? My essay could not have bumped me out of the 700s.

I know that the June International SAT is the March 2012 SAT, does anybody have information for me on that curve? I'm sorry if I'm being pedantic, it's just that I'm in my final year of school and I said that that would be the last time that I take the SAT, but with scores like these, my "American Dream" is seeming like even more of a dream that reality right now.

Thank you for reading. I'd appreciate any assistance with this.
