I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! :) (To the future applicants)

I came on here totally thinking that I was never going to get in. I had a bazillion chance threads for the past two years, and I was told most times that I would never get in. I had adcoms tell me I wouldn’t get in, nor stand a chance at PLME.
I want every applicant for the upcoming year to know that applying is the only way to find out. If you really want it, take the initiative, and utterly believe in it… I think that you stand a chance. Test scores aren’t the only things that matter. Brown really wants to know what type of person you are. You don’t need a 36 or perfect math scores to get PLME.

Forget your fellow applicants, strive for success, pour your heart out on your app, and I think you stand an equally weighted chance as those with perfect everything.

Congrats! :)!

I honestly used to hate this website. It was good to know how to do certain things, but the chance threads were sometimes REALLY brutual. I was told I couldn’t even get accepted to Brown! & Guess what? I was accepted Early and Deffered PLME. The thing is, no one really knows what the admission officers are thinking when they review applications. That’s why I never understood the aspect of chance threads because it’s not like we, students, will actually be in the room with the admission officers when they cast the vote for each student.
But congratulations! That’s such an amazing accomplishment. I hope to join you in the PLME program in March (crossing my fingers!)
 See you in the Fall!

Congratulations! …if you don’t mind me asking either of you, what were your ACT and SAT scores? extracurriculars? gpa? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you :)

All of our stats are on the ED Decision thread (mine’s on the 5th page), but my ACT’s highest composite (superscored) was a 31, and a 29 without superscoring. GPA 3.89 UW, 4.65 W. EC’s on there…

Congratulations popcharlie93 !

Sometimes I get depressed by all the overachieving people here in CC ranting about having mega scores and stellar ECs as a prerequisite to college admission. Its people like you at the end who inspire me!

I think you should post your stats for benefit of future candidates! And once again great job!

popcharlie93 how many Bs did you have?

Congrats! Welcome to PLME!

I had 2 full year B’s (one in 8th grade & one in 10th) and 1 one semester B for APUSH last year.

CONGRATS! It sounds like you really deserve the spot. this site is quite the self-esteem killer from time to time but this thread made me feel much better. so thank you  I hope to be a part of Brown class of 2017, but my stats are less-than stellar (well by CC/brown standards anyway )

Well, there’s a thing about anecdotal evidence.

Still, you’ve given me a new irrational tinge of hope. Thanks.

Good job  See - I told you not to worry!

Congrats!!! So happy to see you got in! In case you don’t remember, you responded on my post a couple years ago: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/brown-university/865740-can-i-get-into-brown-with-a-26-act.html#latest

Congratulations and good for you, for not listening to the naysayers!
