I really can't focus in school. I get mostly As but i only work hard in classes i like (math only). I have to do a dbq, 2 books to read, an oral presentation, 2 spanish worksheets, outline of a chapter, and 4 governor school essays along with some physics AP questions all by monday. And i just can't focus. I keep wandering off to facebook, or start playing counterstrike. Or i go downstairs and watch tv... i just can't put my mind to it. Most of the time, i can get away with 90s without much effort.. but now it might not work.. ah! I shouldn't have taken IB. This sucks. Can anyone help me through this?

Rip that internet cord out from your computer.

Ommmgg I am feeling the EXACT same thing. I have so much to do before break is over and it's almost second semester and I'm a senior but I need to get good grades! Do you drink coffee/caffeine? That gets me motivated to actually do productive things. I'm about to go get some so I can actually do my Psych IA...or try like watching a movie while you work? Cause at least then you're focused in like a confined space with your work rather than exposed to the distractions of the Internet. LOL hope this helps. But you're not alone!

the thing about IB kids is that we always say we should have taken it, etc but we know how awesome it is in the end :D

i have to finish a part of my Psych IA, i have to work on my English IA (the oral project) and this all sucks so bad right now. I'm trying to do a DBQ and it just isn't clicking for me. I don't get it etc.

yeah, i have to re-read 150+ pages of an english novel, and do a 'coupla other things. Oh wellz.

Divide your assignments into chunks that should take about 30 minutes.

Only allow yourself to surf online/play games after doing one of those chunks (no matter if it ends up taking 15 minutes or 2 hours).

Repeat. Make sure to rest if you're too burnt out, but only for a short time.

Find something that keeps you focused. Sounds dumb, but for me, I just have to say my name outloud and I snap back.

Think about how much you want to get an A+, go to Harvard, become a rich lawyer, and own a mansion with five pools and thirty cars while cabana boys/bikini-clad women fan you and bring you fruity drinks. (Don't think about that one too much, though.)

I was so distracted earlier this break with being glad to be out of school. Then I realized I have stuff to do and used those steps to finish it all with the weekend to spare!

It's called senioritis. The quick snap at the end of procrastination will get you back on focus. Unfortunately, you'll only have a couple of hours left, but that should be no problem.

juionristis? lol i'm a junior. I'm gonna try working out for a bit. That usually changes my mood.

rofl you're a junior. this is one of the worst cases of senioritis i have ever seen. just kidding :P.

tell ur mom to lock ur room from the outside.. that way u wont be able to get out

I just found out this afternoon that my entire TOK EA is due on monday. Great there goes my entire weekend. I hate to break it to you but I think year two is worse.

i heard year 2 is hell.

haha I once heard that junioritis is characterized as an obsession to achieve whereas senioritis is academic apathy.

I'm so glad that I don't have any homework from classes over break. (I'm soooo sorry for all you guys that do.) I really only have to write an essay for this scholarship....which I am now avoiding.

I heard first quarter junior year is the hardest, and year 2 is heaven compared to year 1.
