Ib is killing me

Is CC-ers doing the full IB course?

I am. And its absolutely, brain-twitchingly painful. I'm a senior trying to juggle new materials for the six courses, IAs/labs, Extended Essay, WL, TOK essay, TOK presentation, SAT Reasoning, SAT Subjects, College search, college essays, college apps, scholarship search, CAS, a cold and le 9gag addiction. You dig?

My school doesn’t offer IB :/

It’s the only thing my school offers… (no APs)

^ same here :/

IB is pretty cool and it probably looks really nice on an application, but it has its flaws.

I’M DYING, TOO!!! I slacked way too much on my EE. The rough draft is due in about a week, and I didn’t even get my research question fully approved… what are you planning on doing your EE on?

I finished my first draft last week! teehee! I testes antibacterial properties of plant extracts on bacterias (Biology, obviously). What’s yours?

omg my EE -_- and CAS!??!!! how am i meant to get any action hours? oh, that’s right, i’m not.

I haven’t started writing my EE yet!! I am sooo dead :frowning:

@therecordstore: you could get action hours by “doing anything that makes you sweat” (according to my CAS coordinator)

I finished my first draft of the EE two weeks ago. Yeah IB is definitely difficult when you have college stuff to do as well. I have 0 CAS hours lol

LUCKY! Well, good for you… And goodness, I heard science (and maybe math, even) was the hardest to do your EE on! So good job, haha! I’m doing mine in psychology. Something like, how dreams can be used as psychotherapy.

@therecordstore - Haha, all my CAS hours are creativity (and like one hour of service). Luckily, my IB coordinator says that we can do all hours in just one section as long as we have enough. BTW, I don’t know if this is for everyone, but going to the gym or maybe even taking a yoga class counts as action!

@kalifornya and @emnems
… SERIOUSLY? your cas advisors seem great… mine has some strict rules, like doing a season of a sport doesn’t even count as half of your action hours (and sports at my school are hardcore). most of my cas hours are in service. (which im not sad about btw haha… i like doing service stuff, unfortunately… this leaves little time for other stuff)

Tell me about it! This has been the most stressful and busy year ever… I have literally slept 3 hours a night for the past 3 days. Thank god I have finished my WL1, TOK presentation, SAT reasoning, EE draft 1 and CAS requirements… but i too still have multiple EE drafts, IAs, WL2, TOK Essay, SAT subject tests, apps and extracurricular commitments to deal with…

Oh, and my eng HL IOC will be the death of me…

AP>IB. IB is for newbs.

AP allows you to remain a kid for a little longer while IB just throws you into college life.

Why would you say IB courses are harder than AP ones?
