I chose GW over...

AU, UMD: College Park and possibly Tulane (decided not to apply). I got into Elliott and SIS, thought Elliott had better resources and College Park doesn't even offer an IA program.

GW (Elliott) over University of Delaware, American (SPA), Richmond University (London), University of Massachusetts - Amherst, University of San Francisco. I got rejected from all of my non-safety schools except for GW. However, looking back, even if Claremont McKenna or Williams decided today to change their mind and offer me admission, I would still choose GW. You really can't beat its opportunities when it comes to International Affairs...the IMF is on campus and the State Department is a BLOCK from the Elliott building!

My daughter chose GW over NYU. We loved DC. We loved the clean and uncongested campus. The area opportunities for what she wants to study (International Affairs) were superior. The World Bank and IMF border on the campus. The State Department is 2 blocks away. There are embassies, consulates and federal govt. offices within walking distance. Best part, the professors actually take advantage of these opportunities.

I chose George Washington over:
James Madison University (rejected)
William and Mary
University of Virginia
