I began my study in Feb 2011, and took my test in May. Before that, I did not even think about to take the AP Exam. In only 3 month, I tried my best to read books and practice questions. During that time, I even thought to give up sometimes, but, luckily, I persisted and eventually got 5 in seven and all my AP Exams.
So guys, believe yourself, and I'm sure you can also do it!!!

Thanks for sharing - I’m glad things worked out for you! Unfortunately I’m not as smart as you are. For one thing, my brain turns to mush when it comes to anything related to chemistry. And I definitely wouldn’t be able to self-study all of Physics C in 3 months, even though physics is my favorite subject out of the core three sciences. Were you taking a class related to any of these AP subjects?

You should be aware that only a handful of students are as gifted as you, so this definitely doesn’t apply to “everyone” as the thread title suggests. :)

I think the OP is trying to emphasize the studying for 3 months straight part, not that he/she is some sort of genius. Most AP exams just require a lot of unprocastinated studying.

^Agreed. I got a 4 on APUSH because I’m an idiot and decided to study 3 days before the test. If you study 2 weeks before ANY AP test, a 5 is virtually guaranteed.

This year, I self-studied AP Chemistry, starting at the end of December. I went over everything from MC to FRQs. Even though it was hard, in the end I got a 5.

Awesome job!
Though it may seem impossible to self-study and get that many fives, all of us AP kids HAVE to admit the running joke:
AP does stand for “Advanced Procrastination”…
Maybe things would turn out differently if my TV or facebook weren’t around but lol…I haven’t tried it yet! xD
