I am reading that other prospective freshman have already received emails stating for them to go and make accounts on UC Davis. I have received such an email from UCI and UCB. I have not received such an email from UCLA (got confirmation email, but no invite to make an account), UCSD, and UC Davis.

Have you received such an email from Davis?

Last year, I received an email on Dec. 17. The subject was ‘Your UC Davis application for admission has been received’.
Inside, it stated:

Dear xxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx,

Thank you for applying to the University of California, Davis, for fall 2010. We are currently reviewing applications and will notify you of our admission decision via our MyAdmissions Web site in late March.

It’s important that you create your MyAdmissions account immediately and check it frequently.

You will need your UC Davis student ID number (xxxxxxxxxxx) to get started. The MyAdmissions Web site and a valid e-mail address are critical to providing you with time-sensitive information about the status of your application. You will also use the MyAdmissions site to notify us of any changes regarding:

name, address(es), e-mail address or Social Security number
D and F grades not already reported in your application
courses in progress or planned
test scores and dates
grades/scores on any official records

Learn about your next steps in the admission process at admissions.ucdavis.edu/admissions/fr_timeline.

Received email on Dec 14…Thank you for applying to the University of California, Davis, for fall 2011. We are currently reviewing applications and will notify you of our admission decision via our MyAdmissions website in late March.

I don’t think you will receive a letter until late March. As long as your UC Aplication said you applied to UCD… then you shouldn’t worry until April.

My son got accepted early. Here is the acceptance letter he received:

Congratulations! We are pleased to offer you admission to the University of California, Davis, for Fall Quarter 2011 in the Mechanical Engineering major. You can view and print your offer of admission letter here.

You will receive an official admission packet in the mail in late March 2011. At that time, please use this page to accept your offer of admission, receive your financial aid award, reserve your guaranteed student housing and register for summer orientation.
