I did terrible my first two years at a CCC and still want to attend a great school, too late?

@robert199722 Don’t let anyone tell you it’s too late to redeem yourself. As long as there is breath in your body, you have a second chance. Though your community college experience; I can’t relate to, I understand your story as community college was my redemption period. In high school, I did NOT do my best. I had big dreams of attending different well-known universities in California [My dream schools being: UCSD, Pepperdine, and UCI] but, the majority of my high school career I made mostly C’s & D’s and a couple of B’s. I did better in my senior year passing and graduating [CO2k14] with all B’s & C’s- overall graduating with a 2.5 GPA. Despite graduating from high school, It didn’t seem like I had a bright future ahead of me because I was denied from EVERY. SCHOOL. I. APPLIED. TO. I applied to UCSD, Pepperdine University, UCI, USC, UCSB, UCR, CSULB, and CSUF as a psychology major. 8 universities, 0 acceptances. When I started community college at RCC, I knew I was going to have to have a plan. What did I really want to do, what major am I passionate about, and where did I really want to go to school? Once I sincerely figured those things out - that’s all it took.I got on the bus every day for 2 hours with a goal in mind and a dream in my heart. I went from a 2.20 student to a 3.04 student. November 2016 I sent off my UC application to UCI, UCSD, UCR, and UCSB. I was accepted to ALL minus UCSB! Now, this Fall 2017 I am attending my dream school - UC IRVINE as an anthropology major soon to double as a human biology major.YOU CAN DO IT.

let me tell you right now - that will have no impact what-so-ever.
I had a lot of F’s and a lot of W’s (you get a W when you drop after last drop date) - my gpa was a 1.6 and I got put on academic probation. I failed two classes 3 times each - that is 6 F’s, among all the other ones - I took a year off and decided to switch major into something I would really enjoy it took awhile to figure that out but once I did I was enthusiastic to learn everything I can. I chose to go with computer science (over nursing) and I got straight A’s for two years in a row - I brought the 1.6 up to a 3.9 and aced 50 units - my transcript is crazy, all F’a for two years then all A’s for two years. I got accepted to UCD on a full ride for computer science, their most impacted major, the hardest one to get into. Check it out on assist - you need to get a 3.4 in all calc and all programming courses - that is just 1 B, I got all A’s - I think they can see a change in heart and in dedication - You just need to turn things around and find out what you really want to do - once you do you will love it and the A’s will come. BTW I transferred a lot of courses I didn’t do so well in when I was going for nursing. I had a lot of GE courses done but mostly got C’s with the occasional B. so my IGETC is riddled with C’s. If you are serious about computer science, and you want to solve the worlds newest and most exciting problems, then you need to take it serious and put everything else on hold for a little while. Trust me the people around you will understand and if not then do you really want to be around those kind of people?
