Hey guys,
So I have been rejected from USC for Fall 2015 but offered the Trojan Transfer Program (my sister is a soph there). I am thinking of going to UC Irvine then try to transfer to USC for my second year. I heard that CCCs get priority when transferring but honestly I don’t think I’d enjoy going to a CCC.
I’m an american living in Canada so my tuition would obviously be out of state. Would you recommend going to a private university like Pepperdine or UCI before trying to transfer? Is it even a big difference?
Thanks!!
Go to where you have the best chance of earning a high GPA. You’ll have a better chance at a CC than a UC, tuition will be cheaper, and it’s only for a year anyway…
Haha that’s so funny! We’re in exactly the same boat. I was recently rejected to USC (dream school). I’m now planning to attend either uci or ucsd and then try to transfer after one year. Regarding your question, I already emailed my admission counselor and she told me that they do NOT give preference to CC students and I should go to the school that seems the best fit for me. And she also said the main thing they look for in transfers is to see that you’re doing well academically. So basically go whever you like best and just work hard to get a high GPA. Im sure after one year we will both be able to transfer. Good luck and I hope this was helpful
@Trojan320 thanks so much!! good luck to you wherever you end up and hope we both get to transfer eventually haha
I’m in the same boat; I’m thinking of TTPing into USC from UCI. May I ask how it turned out for you? Any other suggestions you could give?
