I registered to take three but due to many complications I was never actually able to take them, the next opportunity to take an exam would be in April which would probably be too late
Is it over for me?

Both schools require 2 sat subject tests so would my app just be incomplete and tossed away?
Yes - unless you took the ACT with writing. Both Brown and Yale’s web sites are perfectly clear. You are required to submit:
The SAT and any two SAT Subject Tests - or -
The ACT Plus Writing Test
Hopefully, you have applied to other schools whose requirements you did meet.
If it’s a requirement, then probably. They’ve rejected people for much less.
Well, the good news is that you will not be rejected. The bad news is your application is incomplete, and therefore will not even be considered. As mentioned above, I hope you’ve applied to colleges that do not require subject tests.
Pat Yale briefing in Chicago a few months ago, the admissions officer said ACT with writing is enough. If you only took SAT, then you have a problem
@Wje9164be A previous chancing post the OP made only had the SAT I- no ACT. While he could have taken the ACT and not included it in the chancing post, I think it’s unlikely, unfortunately, that he took the ACT. Unfortunately, I don’t think Brown or Yale will be reviewing his application.
I also have a feeling that OP did not take the ACT with Writing – otherwise, why would this thread exist?
In that case, it’s over.
They will actually carry the process to the end and you will receive a rejection letter. At first blush this may seem odd. If you take some time to consider the potential rat’s nest of questions and iterations it may save (especially in the case of a not-tightly-wound applicant), it does make some sense.
@itsJustSchool What do you mean, above?
Unfortunately, and stated simply, you’re “done for” Yale and Brown. The SAT IIs are COMPULSORY, if you opt for the SAT standardized test route (not the ACT with writing). You failed to meet this mandatory requirement and your file will never be evaluated, because it is incomplete (no SAT IIs), which – as indicated by @ItsJustSchool – will eventually result is a denial letter (these universities cannot be expected to hold your application in abeyance, after the normal RD decision cycle concludes in approximately two months),
@green678, all applications are dispositioned. No applications are “abandoned” by the school without notifying the applicant. The applicant is notified of either admittance, waitlist, or declined admission. While an applicant may abandon an application, the school will disposition all applications (they do not “just toss away” any applications).
Incidentally, most schools calculate yield based on number of students matriculating compared to number of applications started. There is a significant shift in yield numbers when they are compared to number of complete applications received (which some schools have started using).
Thank God my mom forced me to take the December ACT, i would’ve been screwed. Thank you all so much!
geez. All this fuss for nothing.
If you took the ACT with writing, then you are still in the running. Yes, it would have likely been over otherwise. Those schools need to find reason to eliminate candidates and you gave them an easy out. Without some heavy duty reason for not having taken the required tests, you would be likely to have been rejected.
You might have led with that. As this issue appears to be resolved, the thread is closed.
