I dont have a chance, but i need second opinions

I am entering my junior year of high school
I have starting looking for colleges

James Madison
UVA (no way)
VT (no way)
Christopher Newport
UNCW

First problem dont no anywhere else that has a good music programs in virginia or surrounding states

second problem(biggest one) I just got out of the dont care about college stages and now I have 1.8gpa, I do have alot of extracurriculars, including awards for percussive arts a 1st place actor in regional competition plays, Im going to do my work the next to years and apply myself (I am really smart probally a b-student but I just didnt apply myself last two years) any advice on how to help my chances of getting into a "good school" thanks

What is a 1.8 GPA?

A 1.8 is like a D+/C-. That's not good. In order to get into any 'good' college you basically need a 2.0, so it's not looking great. That said, you can probably go somewhere lackluster in state and then transfer.

Maybe try going to a community college?

VCU, WVU and Christopher Newport all have excellent music programs. CNU has the Fergusen Center which is a awesome new concert arena.

Also, Radford would be another school to check out. Getting your GPA up as well as doing well on the SAT/ACT would certainly help you chances.
