I don't have a hero

One of my college applications asks for a hero or a person I draw inspiration from... but I don't have either. Would you think it would be ok to write about a place or quote I draw inspiration from instead? thank you :)

How about someone from the past who is not in your personal acquaintance....Dante, Helen Keller, Marian Anderson?

I can't really think of anyone like that who I would really consider my hero although I might consider some of their qualities heroic

i like the idea of picking someone not perfect- your take on the question is just fine, btw

the quote and place thing? you think they wouldn't mind? thanks

there is a saying from teddy roosevelt, i think, about heros

he talks about the true heros are the ones in the trenches, getting dirty...

You need to look deeper if you don't have anyone you draw inspiration from-

an author, a coach, a speech writer, a politician, a sport figure, the essay is not about the person, really, its to show more about YOU, the applicant

My D once wrote about a female politician in our city who is in a wheelchair, injured jsut when she was about my Ds age- she drew inspiration because it is so easy to complain and whine about pimples, or bad hair, or a boy, but then you see someone who can't walk anymore- and who made an amazing life

what about a fictional character? my other D LOVES the character in the book Power of One

I'm a little taken aback that you cannot think of a single person that you "draw inspiration from".

Inspiration: "the act of influencing or suggesting opinions".

There is no one who influences you?

I don't know about the real AdComs. But, if I were on an AdCom, it would trouble me that you say that no one inspires you, influences you.

Imo, think harder, rather than ignore the prompt.

thanks :D I'll... look harder...
