I don't know if I stand a chance. =[

I'm just in my junior year, and would like to see if you guys think I have a chance at UCSD.

As of right now my GPA is a 3.625, because last semester messed me up, but I believe this semester will raise it up a little. Last year I took AP World History, however did not take the exam because I had a horrible teacher (really) and learned nothing and would not pass anyway. This year I am taking AP English and AP US History, and am taking both exams, expecting to do alright (hopefully). Next year I am taking AP Calculus, AP English Lit, and AP Physics. As far as ECs go I don't have much, just 2 years of JV Volleyball. I'm in Medical Club, Literary Magazine and Junior Council. And Knights and Ladies, which is kind of like leadership. I'm starting volunteering at a hospital next month if all works out alright. (I am Ukranian/Russian and distantly German, if that matters).

Counting my senior year, I will have:
Math - 4 years (Up to Calculus)
Science - 4 years (Bio, Chem, Physics, AP Physics)
English - 4 years
History - 3 years (Gov/Econ next year is the 3rd year, if that counts as history..)
Language - 2 years of Spanish, but I am fluent in Russian and am going to take a test to give me FL credit.
And I have a bunch of electives like theatre and creative writting and drawing and film production and photography. Will maybe be on yearbook next year.

SAT, overall an 1890.

Critical Reading 590
Math 530
Writing 770

I am taking my SAT IIs next Saturday (English and US Hist), and retaking the SATs in October. I know I can score a lot better. It's just I didn't study at all. =/ I will this summer.

If you can just give me some thoughts or pointers, I would really really really appreciate it. Thank you!!! =]

i think you have a shot. i know people with far lower stats who got in this year. i'm not saying you're 100% guaranteed or a "match" but i'd say you have a shot. don't give up hope. :)

Aw thanks. That makes me feel better. I'm pretty sure my stats will improve, or at least, I'm trying my best to make it so. =]

just take the chance and apply. Remember you cant win a raffle without a ticket

at the least, you should apply. but definitely, retaking your SATs or maybe trying ACTs is a good thing. i think UCSD has a points system for admission so you have to get above a certain number of points based on GPA, SATs, etc. to get in. and they take your highest SAT scores in ONE sitting.
