I'm taking the SAT in October. If I list 4 schools down to send the SAT scores in (for free), do those scores receive all my SAT scores or just October's?

I've taken the SAT 3 times already and October will be my 4th. I've done unsuccessfully in the past -- one big one where I had no improvements was May 2009. Any way to taking that off the SAT list?

I'm worried if I send my SAT AND my ACT scores, that my SAT scores may pale in comparison. I still want to take one more shot Oct. 10 and see how it goes though.

The 4 schools that you list will receive all the scores including October’s scores. Unless you name them again for a future exam, they won’t receive any later scores.

Don’t worry about any lower scores you have…colleges take the highest…they WANT to take the highest…it’s in their BEST INTEREST to take the highest. It’s a win/win for you and them. Same with the ACT…they will take whichever is highest ACT or SAT.

When you took those earlier SATs, did you list any colleges then? If so, those scores were sent back then.

Don’t worry about any bad tests or whatever. Colleges WANT to take your highest score. They want to list your highest score because it helps THEM look better for ranking purposes. They know that sometimes kids have a “bad test day”.

Besides, many high schools (if not all) include the sticky from each test score on your transcripts, so colleges are going to see the scores anyway.

Contact SAT or read more on their site, but you can choose to send any or all scores by using their Score Choice Option.

Q: Does Score Choice affect score sends?

A: All test scores are automatically sent to institutions with each score report if a student does not actively choose to use Score Choice. However, if a student chooses to use Score Choice, then the College Board will send only the scores that a student selects when sending a score report. This means that colleges cannot assume that all score reports include all student scores.

Question about Score Choice though – since I had already sent my scores the first three times to colleges… they’ll already know if I used Score Choice or not, I guess…
