i had a deep thought about college the other day and realized that ucla is prob a better fit for me, but i already submitted my housing payments, sir, calso, summer school, plane tickets, omggggg

give me some reassuring advice for my decision. ...

you can still withdraw and submit to ucla. but you lose whatever fees you paid for cal.

^Given that it is 4/28 night, by the time he could withdraw his SIR, it will be past May 1st.

You SIR’d, so now you are stuck here. You’ll soon realize Berkeley is an awesome place.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUU

aite well… i guess thats it gg loll…

have a bit more backbone and be happy you’re going to Berkeley.

LOL i have the backbone of a jellyfish brah

you definitely should talk to someone or make some phone calls…

Submit SIR to UCLA. Cancel Berkeley’s SIR later.

If you have second doubts about Berkeley at this stage, then you’re not meant to be here.

If I were you, I would call the Undergraduate admissions office before you do anything regarding SIR’ing UCLA as the UC is known to revoke admissions to people who double-SIR.

why would people double-SIR anyway…

Why would people want to go to UCLA anyway?

Sorry, bad joke I know, but I could never have gone to UCLA; it would have felt too much like an extension of my high school.

omg hamburgler i am just like you !
It’s not too late to withdraw your SIR. I sent berkeley an email and they told me it’s not too late. So Email them.

No, you can definitely withdraw. Some people have to do this after the May 1 deadline if they get off a waitlist and choose to attend that school instead. In your case, you can still SIR to LA.

Edit: nevermind, completely missed that last post.

If I find out from my waitlisted schools during june or earlier hopefully, how do I cancel my enrollment to berkeley? can i still withdraw then?

Contact them – make it in writing; I think that’s best. I don’t know what they prefer. You can still withdraw, but you lose your $100 deposit.

Your chances are withdrawing are dwindling. Lol. You can actually still withdraw. And then submit to LA. Perfectly reasonable

Hmm … I doubt it. UC admission folks are pretty nice people, and they won’t revoke admissions simply because of this. I worked with UCLA undergrad admissions 3 years ago, and they never ever revoked a person because of this. They chose you for a reason and they want you - they think you have the potential to contribute to the success of their school, so they won’t revoke the admission because of a simple mistake.

So yea, it is still possible. You can submit SIR to UCLA, and then simply email Cal admissions that you want to deny their admission. You won’t get your deposit back though!

I remember the entire student section chanting “SAAFFEETTYY SSCHHOOOOLLL” as we whipped UCLA in football last season.

^ That absolutely has nothing to do with the OP’s question.

The Admissions office encourages people to enroll there and withdraw if they are thinking of doing something else and then going to Berkeley. You can ask them point blank and they will tell you to do it.
