I fail some of my college courses

what do I do ? retake them until I pass them? even though this will make me graduate later because without me passing a prerequisite I can’t move on with my degree or my life. I just need like less than 45 credits to hopefully finish so I don’t wanna change majors and trying my best.

Your school would have to provide you the specific requirements.

But generally, yes, you need to pass the required courses to graduate. Pay attention to specific guidelines - at my D’s school, you only get 3 shots at passing a course. So you can’t just retake them until you pass.

Take a look at your school’s website.
You won’t be the first kid ever to fail. You may be able to make up that course-- or take something else-- at a local CC over a summer to keep on track to graduate on time.

And graduating in more than 4 years is not the end of the world! This isn’t high school-- the timeline is so much more fluid!!

Do the above but you need to sit down with the learning services at school to figure out why you are failing. Maybe you need help with organization? Maybe you need a tutor? Did you ever meet with your professors when you saw things were not going well? Talk control of your destination.

Consider if you need to work on basic skills. Students who have difficulty with reading college level texts and writing grammatically often improve their grades in all their courses once they improve on those basic skills. Try going to the campus writing center and getting an independent assessment of your reading and writing skills. I would bet there’s some room for improvement.

  1. Talk to your advisor about taking the right combination of courses...like Don't take 4 hard Math classes at once.
  2. Figure out why you failed? Not prepared? Didn't go to class? didn't do the reading? didn't do the homework? didn't study? Partied too much? spent too much time on sports? Mental health issue? Girl/boyfriend/family issue? Worked too much?
  3. Read these ideas: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-life/1920853-college-is-a-step-up-from-hs-16-tips-on-doing-well-in-college.html
  4. Maybe take less credits (but still full time) next semester so you can do better in less classes?

should I stay with my same major which is biology? only doing for pre-med prerequisites unless there different option for pre-med

I don’t think you are pre-med once you start failing multiple college courses. But you should think about your major if you were only studying biology for that reason.

I agree with @CheddarcheeseMN. We have very little information. From what little information you have given us, premed does not seem like the right plan.

I do wonder whether you should work on your writing skills.

People often major in biology for pre-med because there is much overlap, but in general you can major in anything you want…e.g., my daughter did Psychology + premed.
But it would seem you are a transfer you don’t have much time to take courses.

if you have failed any of your pre-med courses then I don’t think you are cut out for medical school…you have to have a high GPA to get into med school
