I fail to understand billing

I don't understand when I begin paying actual tuition, or what will be on the first bill, or when I have to pay it by.

Can anyone explain?

Have you visited [Student Billing Services, University of California, Berkeley](http://studentbilling.berkeley.edu/) and gone through the presentations and guides yet? Happy to help clarify anything once you do that, but there is a lot to list if you haven’t done any basic research yet.

And pay when your bearfacts “quick statement” says “amt due now” (no science there!)

tuition is one chunk, and has fee to pay by installment.
dorms is by month, so you pay $1100 or so per month

But even if a bill is due, you don’t get fined until about 1 month later

and know that the ebill is sort of a frozen picture of your account on one day in the month and won’t update even though you make payments and/or incur additional charges. the quick statement for CARS on Bearfacts gives you the actual status of your account day by day.
