I consider myself an academic student who tries hard to get the best grades ever.
I have been rejected by every UC so far except riverside and Merced… and I got wait listed at UC santa cruz. My UC GPA is a 3.6 and I know its a bit low but I did have an upward trend, lots lots lots of extracurricular, and 31 on the ACT.
I REALLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYY need to get into UCSB cuz that where I want to go for a pre-biology major. Any hope for me???
you’re not failing. you’re doing the best you can.
UCSB might take you, or they might not - but with so many qualified applicants, it’s hardly personal.
worst case scenario, you’re the “big fish” in the smaller pond, so to speak!
do well where you are and you’ll really stand out.
you can also transfer after you bolster your transcript with better grades.
and remember that you can always appeal to give yourself the best shot.
I appealed my UCSD decision and got in, and my best friend got into UCLA post-appeal.
good luck friend
