I posted a topic on here about partying & drinking along with some questions about it. I now realize that my post was inappropriate due to the content of that discussion, which eventually lead to it’s deletion.
I understand that partying isn’t the only thing that people can do for fun, but some people go through a rough time when they first come to college and they struggle to make new friends. Even after all of the events and icebreakers in class after the first week of school, some people may still find themselves without any friends, except for their roommate.
IMO, parties are a good way to meet new people, but it’s mostly through drinking which can lead to some problems. I still go to and enjoy parties, but I do realize why it still gets a bad rap: Partying isn’t for everyone and people can either be shy or outgoing. Honestly, it would be nice if people tried new things while in college, but parties can either bring the best or the worst out of you.
