For the slugmail.... I know it had parts of my name, but I forgot it haha.
What do i do?

USUALLY its first letter of your first name, followed by your last name.
So John Doe = Jdoe
Sometimes it might be different though.

^if that doesnt work, try the first letter of your first name, first letter of middle initial, then last name

ex- bob q mann is bqmann@slugmail.ucsc.edu

Just without the “slugmail” part of the email ;). They’re just @ucsc.edu, not @slugmail.ucsc.edu

It’s generally either going to be one or the other of the above possibilities (first initial and last name or first initial, middle initial, and last name). I haven’t seen any other variations on this yet for students. I’m sure they exist, though. Hopefully yours is not one of these.

is this important do we really need to check this slummail email or account or cant we just use our normal email?

You can have everything forwarded to another email, I think. But you definitely need to check those emails one way or another.

Idk nothings working!
We made up our own password right? Because I always use the same password for everything so I know its right

For me, it’s First name initial, followed by the first 7 letters of my last name.

NVM I got it haha
it was my first letter of first name, second letter of first name, middle initial and first 5 letters of last name. hahaha

Yeah, you’ll sometimes get weird combinations if the default “1st letter of first name + last name” is taken. I have friends with numbers in their email address.

It’s pretty important to check your UCSC email address because that’s the email address that the school has on hand. This is really important when professors email you with urgent deadlines, cancellations, study guides, etc. If you don’t want to keep checking your UCSC email account you can just forward it to your personal email address.
