I just got accepted and I realized that the FAFSA submission deadline was March 2nd, and that I did not even file it yet. Is there absolutely no way that I could receive financial aid now? I am OOS and paying 58k/yr would be a hefty sum haha.
I also applied for Alumni Scholarship, so hopefully I win some $$
UCLA does not give aid for the OOS difference so you would have to come up with at least $25K for that part. I also do not believe they give great aid for OOS. Most aid comes from the State of California which is limited to in-state students. Call the financial aid office to see if you can still submit your FASFA.
I’m OOS and got essentially a full scholarship from UCLA. What they didn’t cover was the out-of-state supplement. Other than that, they offer OOS the same financial aid. I won’t be going because Michigan and UVA offer grant FA to OOS students.
@excanuck99: You are an exceptional case when it comes to FA for OOS applicants and definitely not the norm. Did your scholarship include room/board or just the in- state tuition rate of approx $13K but you still have to pay the $23k OOS supplement?
