My goal was to reach 1800, but I fell short and got 1730.

CR= 540
Math=580
Writing=610

I know is more than average... but it hurts a little.

I'm an international student, and I'll be applying to 12 schools. Most of them are my safeties, a few reaches (SAT optional like Bowdoin)and two BIG reaches (UPENN & Harvard).

TOEFL ibt= 103 (I could have done better but I got nervous)

I'll be taking two subject tests in January..

Can you guys help me choose which SAT subject test to take?.

Math Level I

Biology E

Biology M

US History

(US History is kind of new for me, and I never had it as a subject at school. I did have biology but I lack of lab experience)
All of the others are out of the question...

Taking the Math I is sort of pointless because most colleges don’t really care about it. However, maybe you should try to study for the Math II and take just one Biology test. Pick the tests you are confident in.

Thanks for the response. I will be taking the subject test in two months. My fear is that as I got a low score on the sat math section (580), I would do worse on the MATH level II which is way harder. Also, I’m so used to the scientific calculator rather than the graphing calculator.

Where at Penn are you applying? For Engineering and Wharton, you’re expected to take Math II. You also should raise your CR and math scores by at least 300 points (combined).

I’m not going to any of those, as far as I’m concerned. My academic interests are history, political science and maybe a minor in computer technology. I’m just applying to the college because I met face to face with the Associates of Admissions and she told me I won’t be competing for admissions against domestic students (who are expected to score much higher than I did). I have taken almost all the courses that math II cover but the standards of education here in South America is lower than those in the States. I’ll see what I can do, though…
