Hey guys, I'm a rising senior and I'm wondering which SAT subject tests should I take. I took Chemistry in October of my junior year. I've already began to prep for US History SAT IIs for this coming October. Originally, I was going to take the Biology E exam in October but I started to rethink that because I forgot a lot about the subject. Should I just take Math Level 1 with US History? (I'm not that good at Math, so Math II is out of the question.)

I think Math I would be more doable! Or Bio M!

DO ALL!! Don’t be a wimp

^dont do all in case you don’t do well because you need to send in either all or none of the scores from a particular date

OP is a genius. Don’t be doubting… OP can do ALL, even Chinese, Korean, Spanish, and whatever other languages three are!!

^ ■■■■■ post

I’d say that you could probably get a good score in Bio E/M if you review for at least 2-3 weeks with Princeton Review and Barron’s.

So you guys recommend taking Chemistry and Biology? (As in one science isn’t enough?)

What is your intended major? If it is science or engineering, you need at least 1 science in addition to Math2. If you are not going for science or engineering, you don’t really need any science subject test. I suggest you to try a few practice tests for Math1 and Math2 before you decide. Math2 requires more math skills, but the curve is much more generous. So at the end, one may easily get higher score in Math2 than Math1.

Okay, I’m planning on majoring in something education/chemistry related. So I think I’ll take United States History and Math Level 2. What books do you guys recommend for Math Level 2?

^ Barrons. It will get you overprepared.

I took United States History SAT II and got a 760 by using Barron’s and Princeton Review. I think you’ll find the Princeton Review a bit better-- the way Barron’s US History prep is organized is by “Top 20” most important things for each time period–so reading through it feels like reading a bunch of random facts that don’t stick.

Have you taken APUSH before? If so, my notes from that class honestly helped me the most…granted I had a good teacher.

For Math 2 I would definitely work through all the books by College Board first as they will be most accurate. But honestly, others like Barrons and Princeton are okay too-- I mean, math is math, so the more practice the better.

Best of luck on taking the subject tests in October! I will be too :)

^ Definitely agree with the first post. Barron’s can be very helpful, but I founded Princeton Review to be more helpful (personally).

Okay, thanks for your help guys. So no objections to United States History and Math II for this October?
