I got a 1710 on my SAT ... possible to get it up to a 2100?

I need to get at least above a 2100 on the SAT in order to get into the uni I want. Do you think its possible for me to get better?

Of course, just get the College Board Blue Book if you don’t have it already, and take the tests. I recommend Mike Barrett’s SAT Prep Black Book for insight into the patterns of the test. Just don’t take it in May, so you can give yourself enough time to improve. When you finish your practice tests, look at the answers you got wrong, and figure out why it is wrong and why the right answer is right. That will help you get an intuitive sense of how the questions work on the SAT.

^this guy didn’t even break 2000

@SavedTatWhim that was uncalled for. Advice is advice, and anyone has the right to help another out. Just because Cosmological did not score in the range you would regard as a decent score, it would be wonderful if he can provide someone else with the resources to score high.

@RishabC297 what would make him qualified to advise someone on how to get a 2100 if he doesn’t even have a 2000?

Yes, it’s definitely possible. I’m taking the SAT in June (psat 233) and my method of study has been to ensure a perfect score on math, and near perfects/perfect on reading/writing. Vocab and grammatical structures need to be studied long in advance before an exam. You don’t need to know any more than that; the bulk of sat is really about solving problems with minimal knowledge

For a 2100 though, I would recommend the same thing: study harder on vocab/grammar skills to get the knowledge needed to score high, and then focus on problem solving skills, which will increase your performance too. IMO, theory allows you to be consistent in your scores, and good problem solving skills to get high scores.
Books: Any book is fine. People talk up Blue book, but just get any sat prep book that has a lot of practice exams. Then do a lot of practice exams, analyze, and repeat as needed until you are scoring consistently at a certain level. Also, if u score high on writing section, your essay tends to be very high quality as well.

Honestly, if you’re a freshman or soph., there is no point in worrying.
