I got a B =(

So in the mid year report that UChicago is going to see... I got a B in AP chem this year and all the rest are straight As. Also chem has NOTHING to do with me intended field of study. Will they actually care, even a little?

Thanks

Also I am a straight A student so it will stand out… I’m just terrible at chem haha.
Thanks in advance.

As long as it isn’t a D or F, then you’re fine. Boohoo, a B… =P Jk jk, but really, no worries dude.

OP, go outside and play. Please.

I got a B in Chem and AP Chem 2nd semester sophomore and junior year. I got accepted.

ohhh you got a b…eliminate all thought of going to a good school and enroll in the nearest community college.

as silly as that suggestion sounds, thats how unnecessary this thread is

The bad thing about CC is that it’s truly hard to tell the difference between a ■■■■■ and a genuinely concerned student. This site (despite its thousand practical advantages in every step of the admissions process) almost does more bad than good by inducing anxiety in some poor souls.

A single B really shouldn’t bee too concerning to you. Especially if Chem isn’t your thing, then they’ll probably just see that you were pushing your boundaries, which if anything is a good thing. Obviously in an ideal world it’d be better if it were an A, but a B is nothing to be ashamed of.

I had a B+ sophomore year and another B+ and a B junior year and I managed to get in early. And two of those grades were in honors classes, not AP. Point being, breathe, please, and enjoy being a second semester senior. =D

OP–im in the same boat as you. ap chem is very difficult, to say the least. one b, i can assure you, will not ruin you. dont worry so much, and just try to enjoy senior year!

I had a B in IB Chem II as a junior and got accepted EA. No big deal.

Haha yeah… Seriously, it’s not gonna have an effect.
