Someone from the cornell alumni association called me today, and asked if I had any questions about cornell. I was sleeping when they called, so I have no idea what I said/asked. Arrghh!! I'm applying for arts and science. Do they call everyone or people that are most likely accepted? I'm so scared no. What if the don't accept me b/c I seemed uninterested on the phone (I was half asleep)? Did they want to set up an interview or something?

don't worry - as stated in the many other threads about alum interviews...they are really for your benefit to answer questions...yesterday was the absolute last day for an alum to CONTACT you at all...now you all are off limits so that's why you got a phone call...last chance to make contact with you...no...it means nothing ...alums try to contact everyone but we have e-mail addresses and y'all don't always check your e-mail anymore -

bump.....I don't think they were scheduling an interview then...
I read in threads for other colleges that people who get called around this time end up getting admitted. Did this happen to anyone last year who can say something about this?
Well I'll find out in 2.5 weeks anyways..just raising myself higher for the big fall XD

I was wondering the same about this "call" though mine was from a current school in HumEc, which is where I applied. She didn't want to interview me, but just wanted to answer my questions. She shouldn't have called. Lol. Now I'm just overanalyzing everything and getting all obsessive with this. Her words being, "If you have any questions you can email me," now almost sounds like a teasing in my crazed brain. "Yeah! I have a question for your now! Did I get in or not?!" :-() hahah fun times!

there is a difference - the day the OP got his call was the very last day for alums to call - and I would guess that soemone was just trying to do their best and make contact...

the call just this week I would guess is different...

A person from alumni called me two days ago...at the begining she told me that she called in order to have a conversation...she asked me things and talked to me about Cornell...at the end she asked me if I wanted to schedule an interiew cause she found me very interesting..

I dont really know/understand what is the real meaning of these calls...cause if they arent going to accept you, why will they call you?

The alumni that interview were given the names of applicants to interview weeks/months ago...long before applications were read and decisions made.

Sorry to say, but getting called now is no predictor of acceptance. I know the wait must be agonizing, but it's almost done now. Good luck!!

i got a phone call from cornell, but i wasn't home. my brother took the message and it was a 607 area code which is ithaca. i dont no if it was a student or alumni... but do you really think it means anything? i just took it as a person calling to answer questions and try to help.

doesn't cornell not give interviews for arts& sciences and most of the other schools?

no they do. i got one for arts & sciences.

hahahaha yeah I was in the middle of a really intense math problem when an alumni called and I was feeling woozy and had really awkward reactions. haha, it was awkward.
