I suck at maths, and by suck i mean i was always the dumbest kid in class when it comes to maths, but i really love econ. previously i thought that econ doesnt require that much maths but the more i hear researched about econ major, people are saying that maths is really important. now my question is should i take econ as my major or should i just give up about taking it as my major and do business instead? however i really want to do econ as major is it possible if i suck at maths? i would be willing to put in the hard work for studying the maths assuming the university provides the help. what should i do. please help
If you’re doing IGCSEs, you should be talking about IB or ALevels, not college majors.
You can major in econ in the us without a lot of math bur you’ll need some calculus and statistics - how much will depend on the university.
If you have a choice IB would be better:
You could take math SL and economics HL, another social science/history HL, ESS, a foreign language and your native language.
For A levels Economics would include quite a bit of math and you’d have less flexibility in choosing your 2 other subjects.
