in this letter it tells me that i "appear to be a good match" for West Point. Is this what they say to everybody or is it specialized goodness

I received a letter like that as well. Mine was a letter introducing the Regional Director (Maj Kemmer for me). Anyway, unfortateley its not an loa cause loas state that a "cadetship has been reserved for you pending you get all the forms in by Oct 15th" or something like that. I'll know in a couple of weeks.crosses fingers

"good match" is a good first step. It just means that they reviewed your initial information re: grades, class standing, athletics, etc. and determined that there is nothing that disqualifies you. There are lots of kids who fall in this category - but some are told upfront that they don't fit. Good luck as your go forward.

oh cool thanks!

Hey,

I got the same letter from MAJ Kemmer.

Basically, the idea behind it was to get you ready for the intensity of the candidate kit, which was to come in the near future..

Before I opened the letter, I thought it was an LOA too! (They come in same envelope.)

However, I did not get an LOA until today 9/10 (believe it or not).

So, check the mail if you think you have earned one as well!!!

Congratulations, jrbunz!! Best of luck with the remainder of the process.

good luck guys... this application processes is pretty much the longest and most grueling conceived by man
