I got accepted!

I got accepted..im happy. I just got letter.

where do you live? im so jealous

I live in Atlanta

blawl, whats your aim sn if u dont mind

bilal767
can the rest of you list your aim sns?

I hope the rest of you get accepted too.

Congrats on your acceptance! My son applied to Emory also and expected to hear back from the school by now but hasn't. Do you know the date your letter was postmarked? We are frantic because if he isn't accepted we will have to cancel our vacation next week so he can fill out apps. to other colleges! Do you mind telling me what your SAT composite and GPA is?
Once again - congratulations and best wishes to you - it seems like a great school.

It was postmarked the 16th. My unweighted GPA is 3.9 and my SAT is 1520. My friend's friend got in with a 3.8 and a 1290 though.

Hismom--

I can appreciate your frantic feeling--I was there with my son two years ago. He didn't receive his acceptance letter until Dec. 20, although Emory mailed them out on the 15th. He was the last of his group of friends to receive his early decision.

Have you tried logging on to learnlink for your son? You might check to see if the link has been enabled---that's generally a good sign. If I remember correctly there was a long list of admitted students on learnlink, I think it might have been under a "history" listing showing who had been sent the info on the posting (which was the welcome letter).

I'm not sure which othe the boys who have been posting is your son, but I've been rooting for all the regular posters. Good luck and please let us know how things turn out for your son.

jetravel24 thats sick u got in, mad jealous u found out already but congrats

Thanks for your empathy, boyssx3! I followed your advice and went to Learnlink and he is listed there! I also read the stats for ED applicants and my son's compare favorably. I'm feeling 100 times better - not only will he probably get into his favorite school, but he won't have to work on more apps. and we can go on our family vacation next week!! Every single one of his friends have heard back from their schools - only Emory's is delayed. What a great message board this is. When he tells me his gpa, I'll list him in the pool.

i also live just outside atlanta and i got my acceptance letter today.

Hismom--

Things sound good and they probably are good! Why don't you call admissions first thing Monday morning? That would give you some peace of mind.

My son sounds a lot like yours! Emory was far and away his favorite school (even well ahead of "higher rated" schools) (and also knew he could be quite happy at other schools) and he was also not overly excited about doing other applications.

Please post here to let me know the final chapter of this saga! If you or your son have any Emory questions, just let me know!

My husband sent an e-mail to Admissions over the weekend and got a response saying no one would be given any info by phone or e-mail.

Finally - the letter - with good news!
We live in New York and the letter was postmarked Dec. 16.
Stats-1440 SAT; GPA 4.92 weighted (school doesn't do UW - but maybe it would be 3.85?)
Tenacious J - for your list, nonJewish!

congratulations!

Congratulations to all of you! You'll all have a wonderful time next year!!

Hismom--

I'm very happy for you too! Sometimes I think the whole college application process is a lot harder on the parents than the kids.

I hope all of you can now really enjoy your winter breaks. if any of you have any questions, I'll be glad to pass them on to my son.

have a great and worry free vacation! When you get back, just post if you have anh parent-type questions.

Thanks for your support,boysx3! This college app. process has been grueling - not at all like it was in my day. I'll let my son know he can e-mail your son with any questions he may have.

Hismom--

that would be great!

I'm really surprised at how happy things are on this boardas compared to a lot of the other schools' boards. It seems like all of the regular posters have gotten in--or, at least no one has posted news of a deferral or rejection. My son told me that ED applications were up almost 20% this year and that his roommate (who works in the admissions office) said that Emory was probably only going to take about the same number of applications as usual, so I was expecting to see some sort of bloodbath on this board.
