I got an early write!!

Who else has? Also, who is planning on going to Preview of Williams?
And...Duke/Penn are my first choices, but I haven't heard back from them...anyone who attends/has visited Williams, why should I go there? I don't mean that how it sounds, but I'm on the fence and would love some information that I can't get from the website, if you know what I mean.

Congrats! I also got an early write, and I am definitely going to Preview of Williams. Right now Williams is my first choice, but I am also waiting on several colleges. You should check out *****.com for student reviews if you haven’t already.

Williams, as an undergraduate institution, has long been considered more prestigious/distinguished than Duke or Penn among those who really know (professional and graduate school deans, etc.). That said, the latter two have come a long way in the past decade or two and are great schools. As an applicant, you need to ask yourself whether you want to be at a huge school, in a city or not, etc. Which departments are particularly strong should probably be secondary at this point, although all have some stand-outs. Fact is, Williams has the greatest emphasis (indeed, sole emphasis) on the quality and intimacy of its undergraduate education, but a happy student will do well at any of these schools.

paulel, what’s the website?

probably oginu spelled backwards.

You’ll find out if you like Williams or not during Previews. From what I perceived during Previews last year, people seemed to either really love it or absolutely hate it. For me, it was much too small and suffocating.

williams definitely better for ugrad than penn/duke, no question about it.

i have to agree with muffinish that it is pretty suffocating… aw you apply to any other top LACs?

no, I did not.
