I got an email today...

It said:

The Office of Student Financial Services (OSFS) has electronically
received your 2009-2010 FAFSA application from the Department of
Education. However, we cannot process your application because you have
not been admitted to The University of Texas at Austin.

Questions regarding your admission status should be directed to the
Office of Admissions at 512-475-7387 (512-475-7390 for gradute students)
or the Admissions home page at Prospective Students.

Using your UT EID, you can monitor the status of your UT-Austin aid
application through the Check Aid Status Here (CASH) site at
FINANCIAL AID.

Does this mean that I've been denied? It said "because you have not been admitted to The University of Texas at Austin" and I'm not exactly sure what that implies. Am I just not admitted or what? I'll call them as soon as I get home but any ideas? I'm so confused...

I got that like a week ago. You just have to be admitted before they can do your FAFSA.
So I guess we'll have to wait for our decisions...(most likely rejections lol)

I got that same email a couple of weeks ago...the waiting is killing me.

No you didn't get denied. I got the exact same e-mail a few days ago and I talked to the admissions counselor about it. She said that Fin. Aid and Admissions is entirely separate. It just means that your application hasn't been processed b/c you have not received a decision determining whether you have been admitted or not.

...I hate this wait!!

i received that like 2 weeks ago and i'm a transfer i'm sure it means nothing

They should have it say "your admission status is still undetermined" or something like that. Saying "you have not been admitted" is not good.

I got that email... but the same day I was admitted, I got this one:

The Office of Student Financial Services (OSFS) has electronically
received your 2009-2010 FAFSA application from the U.S. Department of
Education. We will begin processing your application for student
financial aid shortly and notify you when you are awarded.

Please make sure your permanent, local and e-mail addresses are current
and accurate.

Using your UT EID, you can monitor the status of your UT-Austin aid
application through the Check Aid Status Here (CASH) site at
FINANCIAL AID.
