I got in from the waitlist!

YAYYYY but what should I do? Either High Point in North Carolina or LOYOLA. I want to visit Loyola again, but I'm def leaning towards Loyola. Convince me more :D

go on the High Point thread started by dfedder I think; that will convince you if nothing else does…Loyola is a much more highly respected and much more academic institution.

Lord have Mercy…go to Loyola. It is not a highly selective school-- but WAY more well regarded than High Point.

wow something must of happened where loyola did not get every student who applied. Accepting wait lists this late in time is weird. Really makes me think about how challenging the school actually will be next year. The “curve setters” of the classes will pretty much be top of the 2014 class. Hopefully I’ll get to be a curve setter this time around. At my school the curve setters where the people going to the ivy’s and top 20.

o yea, and !Congratulations on your admissions! If your someone who tries and really wanted to get into the school you deserved that spot more than anyone else.

thanksss! and yeahhh i know that loyola is a way better school. im gonna visit to make sure next week. ahhhh im so exciteddd!

collegeguz…what are you talking about that it is weird to get off a waitlist so late??? final decisions were due 5/1…it hasn’t been a week since they started on waitlists.

congrats yankeesgirl. i think loyola is more highly regarded than high point and ranked much higher. good luck with your decision!

Its weird becuase I thought most of the people accepted at loyola would of denied the offer or accepted before may 1st. I thought loyola had around 1,000 spots for freshman and that they accepted people to make sure they fill the spaces. They had a 68% acceptance rate last year, I know this years its lower, but I thought they accepted over there limits just in case knowing people would reject the offer.

Then again I don’t have a lot of knowledge on this subject becuase I was either rejected or accepted at my colleges

Go to Loyola

Loyola has always goes to its waitlist…as it is a safety school for many…therefore more declined offers of admission from students who got into there other preferred choices.

^* Loyola always goes to its waitlist

Yankeesgirl, what was your decision?

I don’t know yet! I’m so torn between the two. I know Loyola is a better school but I just feel like I will have more fun at High Point. I just don’t know.

You should go to High Point, although if it’s fun you want, you could go to Club Med for four years and it would be a lot cheaper.

bahahahaa yeahh I’m pretty sure I’m going to loyola I just have to put down my deposit.

It’s like picking wine - the BEST wine is the one YOU like.

Ultimately, it will depend on your major, the way you learn, the resources the school offers, and your lifestyle. You being happy and comfortable at a chsool is VERY important to how you’ll learn and study and mature.

Good luck! You can’t make a bad decision.

I’m going to Loyola! I just paid my deposit :D

congratulations, yankeesgirl!

Congrats!

My dau likes L best so far (in 11th grade now). Maybe with any luck you will meet some day!

Congratulations! You made a great choice~

yankeesgirl, you did the right thing. Loyola is a school on the rise and by every account I’ve heard, it offers an excellent education in a beautiful environment.
