So I got an email from the admissions office of UC Santa Cruz offering me a spot in their class of 2017 with a 20k scholarship. However, I never applied there. I did apply to another UC school, and the email did state that they know I did not apply to Santa Cruz. I don't know if anyone else got this email and whether or not it is legitimate. Thanks!

It’s due to ELC, eligibility in context.

If you think it’s a sham, look at the email address… does it end in .edu? If so, it’s highly legit.

yeah it’s from admissions-mailings@ucsc.edu…wow this is a pleasant surprise!

I also got this email. I just checked the tuition for out-of-state for this university…it is really expensive! I think I will still be taking a full ride from my state university.

Did you guys apply to uc’s and not get accepted? Also can you please list your stats

Yeah I probably will not be attending as I was accepted into one of my top LACs. I applied to Berkeley but was not accepted. GPA: 3.52 UW/ 4.24 W ACT: 33

I applied for Berkeley, and was also not accepted.
3.696 GPA (tons of APs and honors), SAT 1960, SAT IIs 680 in Physics, 650 in Math I, excellent extra curriculars and awards (science and math).

It may have changed since my time… but I thought the UC’s didn’t accept Math 1 as a SAT 2?
