I got in!

me too, i had COMPLETELY forgotten about it.

I am still going to Amherst though...

I have to say congrats to you too CCRunner. My brother goes to Michigan and he loves it. You'll have a great college experience there I'm sure, and Ann Arbor is pretty nice.

And I have to say that when you go there, get pizza from The Cottage Inn, I believe that's what it's called. Best Pizza Ever!!!!

Cottage Inn on William street is excellent, but so is NYPD, right accross street.

Cottage Inn.... SOOOOOOO DELICIOUS.

NYPD, Lamplighter (are they closing it?), Pizza House, so many good options

Congrats to CCRunner and others off the waitlist!!

Closing Lamplighter? What's this blasphemy you speak of?

I just found out I got in too. Wow, what a turn of events. I already decided Maryland though so unless the financial aid package is great, I'm going there.

Anyone in off the waiting list into KINESIOLOGY???

I'm patiently waiting ddgirl...I feel your pain

Btw my stats were 3.6 Umich GPA, 1330 SAT(M+V). The thing is I never sent in my mid year report either(I kind of gave up and started to really like Maryland). So getting in was a huge surprise for me. Oh well, I am glad and now I just have to wait for the money. And they call May 1st the deadline...

I haven't heard from Kinesiology yet either.

I also got in off the waitlist (LSA) even though I didn't send UMich anything after I got deferred initially. SAT (m+v) 1480, GPA 3.7.
Already deposited to Cornell (CAS), and don't think I'll change schools.

I don't get why you kids who deposit at other schools that you would rather attend accept a waitlist spot, it's just pointless and taking someone who actually wants to go there's spot.

First of all, I didn't know that I'd get off the waitlist. Second, why should I not go to my "dream" school that I was originally waitlisted from, just to open a spot for another worthy student who I'd like to be generous to. It isn't my fault that I got off the waitlist. Also, If I went to my waitlisted school, wouldn't that then open up a spot at the school I gave a deposit too. Just because I got waitlisted at a school doesn't mean that I didn't deserve to get in / I shouldn't consider attending it. I don't think I'm taking up someone else's spot, because I'm opening up another opportunity elsewhere. I don't think attending a school that you're accepted to is pointless. If you were in our [accepted waitlisters] shoes', I think you'd feel differently. When I applied to be on the waitlist, I wasn't accepted to many schools at the time, and I wanted to broaden my choices.

So you're saying you were accepted off the waitlist at Cornell? I don't understand your situation.

I think he/she got into Cornell the first time around regular decision and decided to go there...was waitlisted at Michigan and accepted place on waitlist.

That's what I thought.

If that's the case, I don't understand why you would accept a spot on UM's waitlist in the first place.

I kind of accepted spots on waitlists just to keep my options open: BAD WAY TO GO>>>COMPLICATES THINGS! (/and then I fell head over heels for Michigan)

Correct. I put myself on the waitlist before I found out from all of my schools.
