The letter was in the package, mailed out 12/15/06. I can relax now...</p>
<p>I went to the website when I woke up this morning and I got accepted. I guess my packet is in the mail. My GPA was 3.3 and 1160 SATS with hardly any ECs. Don't worry guys. I also got accepted to Penn State and my Albany (which I definitly got into) is coming in the mail. I'm a New York applicant, by the way.</p>
<p>My D got in last weekend, too. Journalism/Communications major - in state. Two of my students who are in my NHS chapter that I am the advisor for also got in EA - very excited for them both as I teach at a vocational high school and they only get 1/2 year of academics compared to a comprehensive high school student, so makes us very proud. Most of our students usually go on to either the local community college or go right to work in their trades.</p>
<p>Umass Amherst is decent. The school, in my opinion, is not the greatest and the strengths of the school come from specific departments. Umass is known for its business, engineering, sports management, and nursing programs. In the end, its what you make of it.</p>
