Wow, getting the packet makes it all seem real...they sure sent us a lot of papers though. It might take me a couple of days to sift through them all. I know it's not entirely practical to respond and reserve a space in Harvard's Class of 2010 right away but I want to!!!!!! haha

i think they do it bc most people accept harvard so it saves them money by having two mailings....just a guess. congrats im so excited too!

i know!!! it was sooo thick. i cried so hard when i got it in the mail (i chose not to get my decision online)
congrats all!!!!!!!

wow im surprised that the dean personally signed the letters..
mine says in blue ink "hope you'll join us!"

haha me too. real pen ink wow! I chose not to get an email also but then I got some email inviting me to a reception of the Harvard-Radcliffe club in my area and I was like WHAATTTT????? and I thought it must be a joke but I got the mail today. O_O

haha yeah my harvard interviewer called me last night, and she was like "umm, did you hear any news from harvard yet?" luckily i had already opened my acceptance packet about 3 hours before. it was a really nice gesture, and she urged me to go to prefrosh weekend. will do! :)

want to know a secret? I work(ed) in the admissions office and uh... they have a machine that signs all of the letters. It carves a path for the pen and they just put a pen in it and it signs all the papers. Sorry to disappoint. lol.

omg! how weird, i didnt even know that was possible
thanks for the info ;)

haha wow....all those letters i thought were signed by pen! I shall not be fooled by that again.:)

Haha, I considered that the written note may have been done by a machine.
YES, the packet IS thick, and it took me all afternoon to kinda sit back, relax, and read all of the forms.

I found the form which suggests sending the news about your acceptance to all of your local newspapers particularly hillarious!

seems like a harvard thing to do :-p

Do newspapers really print that kind of stuff?

So, when I apply next year, if I get a regular envelope, I should assume I was rejected?

Yup, rejection letters come in regular, business size envelopes.

92% or something of all applicants got their decisions by email, so chances are it wont come down to size of the package.

I wish we had got a houseing brochure though...most colleges send those....Harvard wants to make us wait til may 15th!

does anyone happen to have pictures of inside the dorms? im curious as to what they look like...

someone want to summarize whats in the packet? im too lazy to read it haha

deathmonkey, http://www.prefrosh.net is a great site to go to for more info on Harvard. Pictures of dorms are here: http://hcs.harvard.edu/~trishin/sergey/galleries/2004/froshdorms/index.htm#

oh sweet deal. thanks!

yeah it s a great source...too bad they don't have the descriptions and comments for all dorms though. but then again, better than nothing!
