i'm in TX and haven't heard yet, most of my friends got acceptance letters today. is this a bad sign? i'm so nervous!

hmmmm allrightie you make me nervous...i haven't heard yet (and i am from WA state also) but not the engineering school i am hoping thats why i haven't heard yet...hopefully

tomorrow i hope!

Accepted at engineering
SAT: 1310? I'm not sure
ACT: 32
SATII: high 600/low 700
GPA: 4.5
rank: top 10%

My brother goes there and I wrote cool essays

no mail yet! if i got into BC and Bucknell already, what are my chances at vanderbilt? just wondering

What kind of scores and activities do you have? Location is also very important.

im a bit shocked that i was rejected....1450...3.5 uw...pretty decent EC and letters.....

I was accepted several days ago.
I'm from the NYC area and I am still waiting on several letters.
Good luck to you all.

daughter received nice thick packet from vandy today.also received a very generous financial aid package. we live in new york (about 40 miles north of n.y.c.). m760 v720 sat2s 780 740 740. gpa 5.0(a+). school doesn't rank but probably top one, two,or three in class. national merit finalist.

I got waitlisted from Vandy...1490/3.6 and 3.8 GPAs (I have 2)....sigh I wonder what went wrong with mine~ I'm so disappointed!

iloveledzepplin, what engineering are you going into? I most likely will go to Vandy be/c of fin aid package too.

My daughter's acceptance packet came Friday, 4/1, and we'll be there Tuesday for another visit. Unfortunately, she can't go to any of the official admitted student days, so she probably won't get to meet any of you unless you're all there in August.

Stats: 1510/800/790/780/5.35 GPA on 5.5 scale. She got such a generous merit aid offer that we can't believe it (gotta love those robber barons). She'll be choosing between UVA and Vandy.

It's hard to understand how some were rejected with such excellent stats and accomplishments. You all seem like stellar applicants to me, and I'm sure you have some great choices to make. As they say, by September almost everyone finds they're at their first choice school.

ecner, I like mechanical engineering (for this week, anyways). How about you?
and zepplin86, awesome sn! which engineering du like?

I still cant get over that I got in

Accepted yesterday...
1550/800/790/760/4.0 UW

I got a sweet $15k a year merit offer that I also did not expect. Yay for Vandy!

iloveledzepplin-- I'm probably going to end up in mechanical engineering!

My brother is current an EE major at Vandy right now. He loves it and they have wonderful resources for engineers:)

What happen to my financial aid package? That is the only way i can decide if i want to go to VAndy or UF

what are the chances of someone coming off the waitlist with...
1390 SAT, 700, 730, and 710 SAT IIs and top 10% with 4.1 GPA (wieghted)

You never know. It's somewhat random. You need to make a big effort to make yourself stand out. Contact the person in charge of your region. Often waitlist = let's see who is desperate enough to donate money to get in, though I personally have ever heard of such a case at Vanderbilt, though I do know of many at other top 20s. Remember colleges are ultimately a business. They will accept those who they can use to make better themselves. I will be surprised if Vanderbilt rejects any international students because they are trying to dispel the stereotype that they lack diversity. Also, they are not as well known as other schools on an international level. So if you are a student applying abroad with a 1100 SAT score, you probably still have a good chance getting in if no one else from your country applied.

hey Allrightie, I'm from WA too. I never got the chance to visit and am having trouble making my decision because of the whole Southern vander-bubble I've heard about. Any opinions from a fellow-washingtonian (or northerner) would be extremely helpful.

just curious, does anyone know when waitlisted students find out whether or not they've been accepted?
