Well, I wasn't expecting much when I got the envelope in the mail today, but I opened it and it sure says "Congratulations! You have been admitted to the freshman class entering Vanderbilt University in the fall of 2012." I didn't know I'd find out this early, but... awesome!

It goes on to read that although the official admission packet will be mailed by April 1, they're letting me know to invite me to attend the MOSAIC Multicultural Weekend, March 15-18.

Congrats to all! I can’t not feel a little envious and I’m praying that my letter comes tomorrow…? I am comparable stats and extracurricular achievements to you guys but I am an Asian girl so that might hurt me. Who knows?

Congrats guys! You obviously deserve this! :)

My son got one today, too! I was surprised, as well. Unfortunately, the Mosaic Weekend conflicts with AIME and Physics Olympiad semi-finals (both given at the local math circle). I am not sure my son is considering Vanderbilt at this point, though he loved the idea of it initially because of the music scene. I have no clue if there’s scholarship attached to this but I don’t think so.

Son is 1/2 Puerto Rican, SAT 2320 GPA 4.0/4.84 homeschooled

my stats weren’t nearly as strong but I think my essays and resume were the things that really stood out. I got a 30 ACT and am ranked 7/430. Congratulations to everyone who’s got in so far! It should be fun!

Wow I am surprised at the number of Asians who were invited to MOSAIC. Do all minorities get their acceptance letters early? Or is the MOSAIC program selective? It would seem bizarre if all accepted minorities got their letters early.
