Got RD Acceptance TODAY!!! (MOSAIC Invite)

Well, I wasn't expecting much when I got the envelope in the mail today, but I opened it and it sure says "Congratulations! You have been admitted to the freshman class entering Vanderbilt University in the fall of 2012." I didn't know I'd find out this early, but... awesome!

It goes on to read that although the official admission packet will be mailed by April 1, they're letting me know to invite me to attend the MOSAIC Multicultural Weekend, March 15-18.

Definitely a nice surprise :D

Congratulations!
If you don’t mind me asking, what state are you from? What is your ethnicity?

I got one too!!! I’m so excited!!!

Florida, and Hispanic!

haha i got one too and i am indian…

Would any of you who were invited to MOSAIC weekend be willing to post your gpa and test scores? Thanks and Congratulations!

I did as well!

Mexican, 33 ACT, ranked 4 out of 194, most rigorous classes.

Same here! Definitely wasn’t expecting anything this early
Basic Stats: Asian, International (Canada), GPA 3.9, SAT 2390

Got mine as well!!!

Indian, Kansas, 35 ACT, 2340 SAT, 9/420 Class Rank, 8 AP’s this year, Lots of EC’s

Me too! My question is, is there money involved in this? Because I’m not really considering Vandy right now…

Congrats to all! I can’t not feel a little envious and I’m praying that my letter comes tomorrow…? I am comparable stats and extracurricular achievements to you guys but I am an Asian girl so that might hurt me. Who knows?

Congrats guys! You obviously deserve this! :)

I also received an acceptance letter along with a MOSAIC invite from Vanderbilt today.

I am Mexican and live in Texas. My unweighted GPA is a 4.0 and my SAT superscore is a 2200.

I got the same MOSAIC letter invite from Vanderbilt! I’m Asian from Illinois. My unweighted GPA is 4.0 out of 4.0 and my SAT is 2360.

@PINOCCHI0

2230 SAT, 35 ACT, 4.4 gpa IB, lots of science awards and research

My son got one today, too! I was surprised, as well. Unfortunately, the Mosaic Weekend conflicts with AIME and Physics Olympiad semi-finals (both given at the local math circle). I am not sure my son is considering Vanderbilt at this point, though he loved the idea of it initially because of the music scene. I have no clue if there’s scholarship attached to this but I don’t think so.

Son is 1/2 Puerto Rican, SAT 2320 GPA 4.0/4.84 homeschooled

You can see his stats here:

I got one too.

African American female from TX, 2300 SAT, 4.0 GPA, rank 1/346,

Congrats all :)

I got one also,
Asian male ACT 35, 4.6 GPA, rank 1/300

WOW guys! That’s awesome! Do you possibly have any tips for a high school freshman like me?

my stats weren’t nearly as strong but I think my essays and resume were the things that really stood out. I got a 30 ACT and am ranked 7/430. Congratulations to everyone who’s got in so far! It should be fun!

Wow I am surprised at the number of Asians who were invited to MOSAIC. Do all minorities get their acceptance letters early? Or is the MOSAIC program selective? It would seem bizarre if all accepted minorities got their letters early.
