Just to let you know they are actually doing something.

I had a learning community so that's why I got it before most of you. I'm in Residence Scholars in Ashton.

Hey, Congrats, Wolves! Are you happy about Ashton? Do you know anything about it?

i got my housing a while back. i didnt get room mate info though, did u?

Thats where Im gonna be when I go. Ashton woot woot!

I don't have a roommate, I have a single. They said though that they were going to send Roommate info and the actual housing number in August, so you will have to wait for that.

during my orientation, RPS told me to wait approximately a week for my room assignment.

U went to orientation Dcho? What do u do there?

Hi Wolves6: I also got the e-mail saying that I got into Ashton and the Residence Scholars community. However, the estimate on there says that I will be billed around $4400. Is this correct? If it's alright with you, how much did they estimate your bill to be? Shouldn't the bill be around $2100?

I KNOW! That's what I got too on the estimated bill, and I don't know why it's like that, because on the website it says it's around 2100. I'm calling them, I don't know what the deal is. Maybe they're factoring in the standard meal plan in addition to the housing cost. Are you in Johnston Hall pwcrice? LOL, we might be in the same dorm. PM me if you want my facebook.

No. No, no. No talking about how much money they're going to want. Holding my hands over my ears and singing, "La la la la la". I can't hear you!

AimHigh,
LOL!! Yes, enjoy whatever money you have before mid-August, when the first payment is due. You'll be broke after that! :)

omggggg. haha. i'm in ashton residence scholars as well.

please let me know what you find out about pricing for the rooms. i thought that just ashton alone was 4000ish but getting into the residence scholars actual program qualifies you for the half price deal.

ugh. i'm gonna email someone too. but i'd love to hear what you find out.

Hey, I found out pricing. It was a technological error. That's not the price that's going to be on the bill. The price for the room is $2168, and that's what will be on our bill.

Saw the hall we're in during Orientation, hall is nice, big rooms with A/C, and right across the street is the SRSC and Pizza Express, so i'm set!

speaking of all this stuff, what kind of meal plan did you guys choose? i'm really not sure what i want. i mean, i really want to be cooking my own food, but i have a feeling i'm not gonna end up actually doing that. but if i just buy the smallest one i can add to it if i run out right??? hope so.

My son took the lowest one allowed to freshmen. He ended up running out, but most of the girls he knew had lots of points left over, so he was able to get food by looking for girls he knew at mealtime toward the end of the year. :)

I read that beginning this year, leftover meal points can be carried over to the next year, so there will probably be fewer young ladies offering to give away points this year. Oh, well, as an RA, my son gets a pretty big plan.

But yes, I believe you can add to the plan later--or just pay cash for meals.

thank you so much! :)

Susan, I don't know about carrying the points over - I thought my ex said they were lost. At direct admit day they told them all to get the lowest amount of points possible or they might find they're wasting them. I took that to mean they'd be lost, too. Either way - lowest is the way to go, it sounds.

is this policy continuous? will it still happen past 07-08 contracts?

i still havent recieved my dorm info :(

Yes, I believe that policy will continue. It is a new policy to be able to retain meal points, and apparently, you can only retain 75%. Up to now, extra meal points were lost, which is why so many people with a lot left were willing to donate to my son, who had used his all up. :)

Grr. No room assignment yet :(. been waiting for a while (everyday going to check the mail).

I want northwest just give me northwest.
