But I play hockey have all A’s and lacrosse and basketball, cross county, and Sail, Will those help me? and actually at St.Georges they are losing their only 2 Maine kids this year.

do I have a chance to get into groton, andover, deerfield, MPS, Hotchkiss, Brooks with this score?

yeah, I have the same question…

i got a 69% total on the SSAT (83% in math, 40% in verbal, and like 60% in verbal…)

However, I ranked 1st place in state and 14th place nationally out of more than 10,000 people for a history competition, ranked 1st place in a county and 1st place state-wise for an engineering competition, pres. of my school’s NJHS, band geek (1st chair since 4th grade), straight-A student in all two year above classes in nationally ranking public school, leader of a nationally ranking stock market club, had a couple of my drawings published in magazines, and all that jazz… Oh yeah, and i’m korean… the odds?

I still haven’t gotten my poop-ing snail mail scores!

I just got mine today, Paula - you’ll probably get yours monday! :)

Man, my scores totally surprised me. I was preparing my parents for 70th to 80th percentile. I got:

Verbal - 800 - 99%
Math - 725 - 92%
Reading - 755 - 94%
Overall - 2280 - 98%

I’m so relieved! I wouldn’t have been able to retake it since it’d be too expensive. Whew!

i got my snail mail today as well.

soo… im not taking the SSAT cuz i took the PSAT and i did really good on that the last time i took it, does anyone think that will affect my chances, cuz i still havn’t seen anyone who got in with the PSAT and not the SSAT

someone please help me. I took the ssats on december 12 and got 78% total (im applying to deerfield, groton,st.paul’s,phillips andover, phillips exeter, and hotchkiss). im taking the ssats again on 1/9. I haven’t studied at all yet and I really need some tips on how to do well. Please, anyone who got over 90%, how did u do it? I especially need help in verbal. Also, do you think my scores will get to the schools in time since applications are due 1/15 or will they count me as late?

they will definitely get to the schools in time

bloom, the only thing you can do with verbal is study hard!!! i remember i was studying my butt off with about a gazillion flashcards the week before the test. look into pr and maybe kaplan and memorize all of those words, if u have time. studying sat words isn’t a bad idea either. last minute cramming is never good, but its better than not studying at all. well, it got me a great score atleast.

yeah but last time i memorized 100 ssat words, but none of them showed up on the test. if i dont do well again, do u think i can get into any of my schools with just a total of 78%? im applying 4 deerfield, hotchkiss,st.paul’s,andover, exeter, and groton. I have all A+s, one A- and one B+, i play violin, flute, and erhu, i also swim, dance, sing(im in chorus and madrigals-an auditioned singing group),paint, and do drama.

well, if u have rockin essay, recs, etc. your SSAT scores wouldn’t might not matter as much. but you should really post this on the chances thread instead.

Hey bloom! I don’t think the ssat scores really matter that much, but since your retaking, I guess that will give you a better chance.

hi, im in 8th grade, and applying for andover and exeter, although andover is my dream school. i scored a 99 percentile in all categories of the ssat and i have a 4.0 grade point average. i only do one sport, gymnastics, and im on the scienceteam. however, 7 of my classmates are also applying for andover, and they all got above a 90 percentile, have good grades and do a lot of extracurriculars. In the past years, 4 kids at my middle school have been admitted to andover each year. think i have a chance?

Yes…then again everybody does, but you have a good chance!!

I got 99 verbal, 99 math, 97 reading, and 99 overall without studying more than making jokes about the ridiculous words in the SSAT prep books with my friends. I’m not sure how much the studying helps beyond a certain point since you cannot begin to guess the random words they throw into the reading and verbal sections.

i got a 1808 all together. im applying for 10 grade. im a female 9th grader. im not applying to any top schools. just one in PA. think i’ll get in?

Hello i just got my scores back and i am very dissappointed in them

Do you think i still have a chance i have essays and last year i got the Johns Hopkins award for high MCAS scores. So tell me what you think. I really appreciate it thx.
