I got Questbridge info but I don't need aid

My family makes six figures and not enough to pay for ivies but definitely enough to pay for most schools. Is the Questbridge thing probably a mistake or since a lot of the Questbridge colleges are expensive does basically everyone receive aid?

I don’t know who sent it to you but you won’t qualify for QB. Most student’s family income is less than $60,000.

However, it doesn’t mean that you won’t qualify for some aid. Some of those top schools will give assistance to your income level depending upon the total financial picture. Run the Net Price Calculator on each college website for an estimate of what it will cost you and what you might get in aid.

Basically every one gets financial aid. Adding grants, scholarships, EFC, etc., if you can’t pay that tuition they will. So basically, if you do all you can put can’t pay it off, they will take care of it. This is because most QuestBridge schools are 100% meet need.

honeybeebzz, some people do not qualify for aid because they have no “need”. In other words, their EFC equals or exceeds the cost of attendance. So no, not everyone gets aid. About half the people at Ivys get some, for a general idea.

Other families will get aid but the family portion may be too high for the parents to be willing to pay. A family making 100,000 could have 30,000 family contribution. So unless they are willing and able to pay that, the school is unaffordable even though it meets need and gives aid for the remainder of the costs.
